Firefighters and rescuers were called on Sunday to a construction site at Mlynské nivy street, where the construction panel crushed two people. One of the injured († 48) workers died.
The nine firefighters from the station on Radlinský Street in the Old Town of Bratislava were called together with the rescuers to the town part of Ružinov, where on the 5th floor of the building two workers were crushed during construction.
Unfortunately rescuers failed to revive one of the injured men Dušan S. († 48). The other construction worker Dominik K. (46) was transported to the hospital in Bratislava . “The patient has a broken chest, the rescuers have treated him and brought him to the hospital,” said Alena Krčová, a rescue worker, for Time.sk.
The case is already being inspected by the National Labor Inspectorate, which checks whether all the regulations have been complied with.
Death and serious injuries during construction on the Three Tower building
2008 – The construction of luxury apartments in the Three Tower multifunctional complex on Bajkalská Street in Bratislava was marked with death and injuries. Pavol (33) was smashed with an iron rod at the 50-meter height . Another worker (53) fell six meters in the elevator shaft. In the same year, Marek († 17) died after falling from 7th floor. The young man could not find a job in his town, and he therefore went to work in the capital. His relatives did not know he was on the construction site. At home, he told them he was going to visit the older son in the Czech Republic.
